The Artesia Police Department authorized strength is 35 officers.
-
Take home vehicles are provided for officers living within a 15 mile
radius of City of Artesia.
-
Newly hired officers are outfitted with a complete uniform, paid by the
city.

The Department currently provides a Glock 40 semi-automatic to all
officers.
-
Officers have access to the firing range, gymnasium, weight room and
other facilities at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC).

Academy (NMLEA)
board sets the eligibility requirements for both the basic and certification
by waiver academies. These standards are subject to change. The hiring
