There is position available for: Summer Youth Worker

PAY SCALE: T1        $6.50 per hour    

QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must possess all of the skills and abilities listed under this section on the job description to be considered for this position. 

  •  Must be 15 years old or older on or before May 31st 2007.

  •  Applicants who are 16 years old or older on or before May 31st 2007 preferred.

  • Applicants with prior related experience preferred.
  • Must be able to follow written instruction.
  • Must be able to follow oral instructions.
  • Must be able to use power tools in a safe manner.
  • New Mexico Drivers License preferred

DUTIES: This list of tasks is ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY and not intended to be a comprehensive listing of tasks performed by all positions in the classification. 

  •  Work under direct supervision performing a variety of tasks. Tasks vary by department:

    • Mow lawns

    • Trim plants

    • Prune

    • Move dirt

    • Cleaning

    • Filing

    • Typing

    • Answer telephone

    • Load, unload vehicles

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, SKILLS and OTHER CHARACTERISTICS: Possessing some or all of the skills and abilities listed in this section will make a candidate more competitive.

Varies by department:

  • Operate hand tools, both power and non-power.
  • Work off of a ladder.
  • Physical dexterity.
  • Ability to lift 35 lbs.
  • Ability to perform manual labor requiring extensive physical exertions; prolonged exposure to the environment.
  • Knowledge of typing, filing and other clerical skills.
  • Ability to work with others.
